Summer Centerpiece – Friday, July 16, 6-8 PM

$150.00

Summer has blossomed on the farm and we’ve decided it’s time to gather to create a centerpiece. Dahlias in full bloom, lisianthus, zinnias, celosias, butterfly weed, cosmos, scabiosa, and so much wildness from the field are the perfect elements for table pieces. Summer foliages including viburnum, spirea, baptisia, physocarpus, and even poke lend movement and light to all the pretty blooms.

Linda will demo a centerpiece in a vessel that allows flowers to spill over casually and will explain the principles of design that will allow each participant to create a lush arrangement using all the bounty summer provides. Gentle guidance will be offered and help provided when needed but the variety of floral material make this arrangement one all can master. We’ll work behind the chicken coop at Aunt Willie’s with views of the open pastures, log barn, and grazing cattle. No prior experience is needed and beginners are welcome. When we’re done creating Linda will style your piece for a photo that you can then share with others. Cost of the workshop includes instruction, all floral materials, vessel, and flowers to take home at the end of the evening. Please note that registration is not refundable. See below for more details.

Description

We’ll meet at Aunt Willie’s, 207 Bruce Doan Rd., Blountville, TN 37617 behind the chicken coop weather permitting. The house is the brick bungalow on the corner of Bruce Doan and Bond Town and you’ll pull right up the driveway as you turn onto Bruce Doan Rd.  I’ll try to remember to tie balloons to the telephone pole. Should the weather not cooperate, we’ll meet in the log barn up the road. Masks are not required outside but if we move into the barn, please wear a mask if you are not vaccinated for your own protection. Please bring nippers if you have them and dress for a run down old farm. Be prepared to learn a thing or two, enjoy an evening in the country, make a friend, and create something beautiful. If you have questions, you may text Linda at 423-367-0361.  Space is limited to provide individual attention and to allow for social distancing
