It’s Mayday! Floral Wearables – May 1st 6-8 pm
$95.00
Did you know that Mayday celebrations began in Europe to celebrate the beginning of Summer. Celebrations still include gathering wildflowers and green branches to “bring in the May”, weaving floral garlands, crowing a May Queen, and dancing around a Maypole. I’ve wanted to do this workshop for years but decided THIS IS THE YEAR! What better way to bring in summer than to wear it in your hair, around your neck, or even cascading down your shoulder. Join us as we create a flower crown, a necklace or cuff, and even a floral tattoo using fresh ranunculus, sweet peas, anemone, fern, peony buds, and whatever else May hands us. And we’re inviting each guest who has a young one to bring one under 12 years old for free! We’ll teach a simpler way that DOESN’T involve making lots of tiny bundles and wiring but rather using cold glue, kinesiology tape, faux fabric and pretty ribbon. We won’t dance around the Maypole but we will celebrate! This is a great workshop if you design for weddings or just like to party as you’ll learn lots of fun techniques that translate well
And we’ve moved this workshop up to the CABIN IN THE WOODS! It’s my quiet place where I come to read and just to sit. We have a new split rail fence up there for. beauty not a boundary, a glider to swing on, chairs to relax in, and woods to explore. We’ll work on an old rusty table from Aunt Willie’s basement and play with a few flowers she started a generation ago and a few new flowers she would love.

Linda will demonstrate each wearable technique and guide your creations. No experience is necessary and beginners are welcome. Cost of the workshop includes all flowers and supplies, pretty ribbons, and a photo or two. Join us for this chance to create and make merry. We’ll meet rain or shine and we’ll move to the barn if weather doesn’t cooperate. Registration is not refundable but if you can’t make it you can gift to a friend. See below for more details.
