SOLD OUT Celebrate Spring (And My Birthday!) Workshop – Thurs, Apr 17, 10 am-12:30 pm $165

$165.00

Our first floral design workshop of the season and it’s my BIRTHDAY! Nothing we’d rather do to celebrate than play with flowers with lovely flower friends! So much beauty is blossoming on the farm in April. Lilacs, hellebore, tulips, bridal veil spirea, anemone, dames rocket, viburnum, and dogwood!  Sweet peas and the first snaps may make an appearance along with other spring bloomers and all work beautifully together. The early spring green foliage is such a sweet compliment to it all and finishes it off with a flourish.

We’ll begin this workshop with a tour to wherever flowers are blooming. We’ll take a close look at hellebore and we’ll show how we harvest and store for longer vase life. Next we’ll take a peek at the tulips and learn how to plant them like a pro, harvest them for the longest vase life, and store them for weeks out of water to enjoy a few weeks later, Next we’ll head back to our design space for a demo in a vessel that allows flowers to spill over casually. We’ll explain the principles of design that will allow each participant to create a lush arrangement that will brighten up the Easter weekend using all the bounty spring provides.

Gentle guidance will be offered and help provided when needed but the variety of floral material make this arrangement one all can master. We’ll work outside at the Homeplace and move inside if inclement weather. No prior experience is needed and beginners are welcome. When we’re done creating we will style your piece for a photo that you can then share with others and we’ll eat BIRTHDAY CAKE from Blackbird Bakery that we’ll decorate with flowers as a group! Cost of the workshop includes instruction, all floral material, vessel, photo, and perhaps a few extra flowers to take home at the end of the morning. Registration is not refundable but if you can’t attend you can send a friend in your place. See below for more details.
