Centerpiece Workshop, Thurs., July 14, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Come join us for a centerpiece workshop with all things summer! Dahlias and lisianthus will be in full swing with fun little sidekicks of echinacea, scabiosa, zinnias, daisies, cosmos, mints and basils, and so much wildness from the fields. Linda and Kristin will each demo a centerpiece in a blue and white vessel that allows flowers to spill over casually and will explain some hopefully helpful thoughts on design that will allow each participant to create a unique lush long lasting arrangement using all the bounty this crazy warm summer provides. Gentle guidance will be offered and help provided when needed but the variety of floral material make this arrangement one all can master. We’ll work behind the chicken coop at Aunt Willie’s with views of the open pastures, log barn, and grazing cattle. No prior experience is needed and beginners are welcome. When we’re done creating Linda will style your piece for a photo that you can then share with others. Cost of the workshop includes instruction, all floral material, vessel, and flowers to take home at the end of the evening. And we’ll likely have plenty of leftovers to make a quick little spiral bouquet at the end of the evening as a bonus! Registration is not refundable, but if for some reason you can’t make it, you can gift the evening to a friend. See below for more details.

We’ll meet at the Homeplace, 399 Bruce Doan Rd. It’s the driveway just after you pass the hoop house on the left.  I’ll try to remember to tie balloons on the mailbox. Should the weather change, we’ll meet in the Log Barn.  Please bring nippers if you have them and dress for a run down old farm. Be prepared to learn a thing or two, enjoy an evening in the country, make a friend, and create something beautiful. If you have questions, you may call or text Linda at 423-367-0361.
